Now I’m not saying this is definitely the reason I’m never cold…
According to imdb, the MPAA rating for Twister (the ’96 classic about running around a lot and watching barns being ripped apart) is the following:
Rated PG-13 for intense depiction of very bad weather.
OK, so this weekend was Leicester CU’s annual houseparty. We spent the weekend in Norfolk in a lovely place called Letton Hall, and on Saturday night we had a lengthy cabaret, in which lots of people performed.
Being the thoughtful person that I am, I got hold of a video camera and recorded the whole thing. This is one of the two songs which I was involved in;
I just discovered this, and I think it’s fantastic!
There are some fantastic pictures, and I can’t imagine how much time it must have taken to make all of the scenes. Here are a few of my favourites:
A trichinosis larva and a botfly maggot walk into a bar. The botfly maggot turns to the trichinosis larva and says “hey buddy, I heard you like pork.” The trichonosis larva looks the the botfly maggot right in the spiracles and says “indeed, I encyst upon it.”

I was just flicking through my new copy of PC Gamer, when I came across a gem which made me laugh out loud. PCG is filled with little tidbits of information and humour, and I have the utmost respect for the team of writers who consistently make their subject matter interesting and entertaining, as well as genuinely funny.
Anyway, the thing which really made me laugh was this; in a review of a new game called S.T.A.L.K.E.R., the following sentence appeared:
“This is mainly because (punctuationectomy!) Stalker approaches the genre…”
I love that they just made up an excessively long word in order to shorten one! (although the shortened Stalker is used throughout the review so the space saved is a lot more than that taken by their invention).
